Contract Valued in Excess of $450,000

LOS GATOS, Calif., July 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Identix Incorporated
(Amex: IDX), the worldwide leader in providing user authentication, security and identification solutions, announced today that it was awarded a contract from Wayne County, Michigan to provide six TouchPrint? Live Scan Systems, two TouchPrint Applicant Fingerprinting System, two Palm Scanners and
3 upgrades for existing Identix Live Scan systems to the new Identix Windows NT-based operating system.  The contract is valued in excess of $450,000 to Identix.

According to Wayne County Executive Edward McNamara, the new systems will be deployed throughout the County to complement the Identix Live Scan systems currently in place.  Wayne County has been using Identix\'s Live Scan systems for several years, and we have been very pleased with the time and cost savings we have realized due to the ability to get our officers back out onto the streets more quickly than with traditional ink and paper fingerprinting methods, McNamara said.  The ease-of-use, clarity and quality of the scanner images, coupled with the rapid submission and response times to the local and state AFIS, made Identix the clear choice for Wayne County.
